Richard Hall was commissioned by Barton Middle School in Kyle, TX, to compose "Honored Guest, Going to the Sun," a score commissioned in memoriam for former HCISD Assistant Band Director Dr. Dulane Aaberg. The Wind Ensemble enjoyed a consulting visit from Richard in final preparations for the premier performance. The ensemble was directed by Mr. BJ Sayger.
The video dance piece, "Homemaker," was accepted into the dance conference “Decolonizing Bodies: Engaging Performance” at the Errol Barrow Centre for Creative Imagination, University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, Barbados.. The film was produced, filmed and edited by Aana Baer, conceived and and directed by Michelle Nance and Ana Baer and features dancer Michelle Nance. Richard composed the music along with sound editing and sound design.
"THE WALL" has been chosen to be screened in the very first “Dance on Film” component of Austin Dance Festival 2018. "Hitch-Glitch-Snag" has been chosen to be screened at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts in San Antonio, TX, as part of San Antonio’s Contemporary Art’s Month’s exhibits. The film was produced, filmed, edited and choreographed by Ana Baer. Richard composed the music.
Richard Hall peformed the music for the JUSTICE Project at the Austin Community College Guest Artist Concert. According to program notes, "'The JUSTICE Project' celebrates the authentic artistic voice and embraces the transformation that arises at the intersection of self and community." Richard also composed the music for the work and created the live digital-video backgrounds.
Richard Hall performed the music for "Wild-er-ness" at the Spring 2018 Merge Dance Company's "Resilent" Show. “Wild-er-ness“ is a collaborative work between German dancer/choreographer Heike Salzer, Texas State University Dance Department Head Michelle Nance, Texas State University dance video-choreographer Ana Baer. Richard also composed the music.
Richard Hall was one of several faculty performers at Texas State University's "Stars At Night Faculty Showcase" which featured the music of composer Dr. Thomas Clark. Richard performed live digital-art featuring visual manipulations of photographs. These visulas accompanied Dr. Clark's electronic pieces "Falling Water" and "Suspira."
