Richard D. Hall gave a clinic at the College Music Society (CMS)/Association for Technology in Music Instruction (ATMI) 2011 joint National Conference held in Richmond, VA. Richard's clinic was titled "Finale Can Do That?! Using Finale to create spatial, avant-garde scores."  
   
April 2011 Richard D. Hall's composition "Songs of My Grandfather" for SATB Choir with laptop accompaniment was premiered by the Texas State University group VocaLibre under the direction of Dr. Jonathan Babcock. The work consist of three movements, "Hairbreath Harry," "To My Wife," and "The Best is Yet to Be." All of the text was taken from letters that Richard's grandfather, William, wrote to his wife Alta while William was stationed in Italy during World War II.

    Richard D. Hall along with Dr. Russell Riepe and members of the Texas State University Mysterium for New Music Ensemble were invited to perform at Loyola University in New Orleans, LA. The performance included small-scale electronic improvisations and some programed visualizations. The last piece of the performance was a collaboration with the Texas Mysterium Ensemble and the Loyola University Electro-Acoustic Ensemble. The peice was "Set Sail for the Sun" by Karlheinz Stockhausen.
