December 2010 Richard D. Hall along with Dr. Russell Riepe, Dr. Tom Clark and members of the Texas State University Mysterium for New Music Ensemble performed in Ann Arbor, MI, at the 5th Annual International Society of Improvising Musicians International Conference. The performance included small-scale electronic improvisations and some programed visualizations. See pics.

Richard D. Hall was a featured Finale user on the Finale "Spotlight" Blog for the world famous notation software Finale. Richard's advanced notation and avant-garde musicwere discussed as well as score samples. Click here to read the story.  
   
October 2010
Richard D. Hall was commisioned to write the score of the Texas State University Department of Theater and Dance production of the Sophocles play "Electra," directed by Michael Costello. Richard also performed live "mixing and editing" for all of the performances. The score received an award for Excellence in Musical Score from the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival.  
   
September 2010

Richard D. Hall along with Dr. Russell Riepe and members of the Texas State University Mysterium for New Music Ensemble performed in Minneapolis, MN, at the joint national conference of the College Music Society and the Association for Technology in Music Instruction. The performance included small-scale electronic improvisations and some programed visualizations. After the performance, Richard served on a speaker panel discussing the pedagogy of electronic student performing ensembles.

   
August 2010
  Richard D. Hall's compostion The Moon Princess for woodwind quintet and narrator was released on the recording titled, "The Ugly duckling and Other Stories." It was recorded by the Wild Basin Winds (out of Austin)in conjuction with the popular children's group The Biscuit Brothers.
   
July 2010 Richard D. Hall performed his composition "La Estrella y la Esponja," a duet for Eb Alto Saxophone and Percussion. The piece was performed at the senior recital of Chris Walker, who played percussion. The piece written for Chris and was inspired by the composers son. The video may be viewed here.

Richard D. Hall performed for the Shay Ishi Dance Company at Austin Ballet in Austin, TX. Works included "Under a Comanche Moon," various improvisations, prepared piano works and Arvo Part's "Lamentate."  
   
February 2010 Richard D. Hall performed his composition "Industrial Guitars" for solo electric guitar with laptop, live manipulative electronics and live manipulative video. The performance was for the 5th annual National Association of Composers USA Texas Conference. The conference was held as a joint conference with the 1st International Conference on Latin-American Music.

Richard D. Hall along with Dr. Russell Riepe and members of the Texas State University Mysterium for New Music Ensemble performed at Texas State University with Dr. Susan Allen and several students from the California Arts Institute. The performance included small and large scale improvisations, and some electronic improvisations.
